NMR METABOLITE SCIENTIST
Do you believe metabolic processes provide the basis to understand complex biological problems? Do you get excited about developing novel NMR detection methods that push the boundaries of what metabolites we can detect? Olaris is looking for high-performing and outgoing individuals to join our Biomarker Discovery team.
The Position
The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for a broad range of research activities including preparing samples, running custom NMR experiments, and data analysis. There will be opportunities to develop novel NMR methodologies to integrate into our platform. You will work directly with the computational team for data mining and biomarker discovery. You will be responsible for maintaining a proper lab notebook. You will be expected to publish and present our work at conferences. This is a full-time position with a competitive benefits package.
Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. Degree in Biological Sciences, Chemical Biology, Biophysics, or related field
2-5 years related NMR experience required
Familiar with various omics technologies (transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics and metabolomics)
Knowledge of NMR theory, pulse programs and data analysis including 1D, 2D and 3D experiments
Familiarity with statistics and bioinformatics tools in metabolomics
Preferred Experience
Rational experimental design for metabolite characterization and structural elucidation
Experience with cancer metabolism and/or immune-metabolism
Wet-lab techniques of handling biological samples including human biofluids, natural product, and bacterial cultures
Hands-on with NMRPipe, Chenomix, MNova and processing NUS data

SUMMER INTERN - DATA SCIENCE
Are you passionate about having an impact on the future of medicine? Does working at a start-up pioneering a new way to diagnose and treat disease get you excited? Does the idea of working on diverse projects in a fast-paced, dynamic organization get your neurons firing? If so, then we want to talk to you. Olaris is hiring multiple high-performing, motivated individuals for summer internships from May-August 2023.
The Role
Successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to work on projects within the Data Science function such as:

Data Processing, analysis of molecular data, and interpretation of results

Developing API-based solutions for integration with external tools and repositories

Implementing backend databases

Coding and refactoring of existing codes

Integrating various data types into harmonized and actionable data sets

Working closely with the lab teams in the analysis and validation of Olaris NMR & MS outputs
Requirements

Currently enrolled in, or recent graduate of, a B.S. or M.S. program in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field

Legally authorized to work in the United States
-
Able to work on-site in our Framingham office.
Preferred Experience
Experience in using R scripting language
Strong understanding of advanced statistical approaches, ability to apply statistical analysis techniques
Ability to follow and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ability to multi-task, communicate effectively, work well in a team, and learn quickly
Metabolomics knowledge

Requirements
